What is NAC?

 

NAC is an incentive program to help Christian young people develop skills and talents which will equip them for ministry in their local church and its outreach.

NAC stands for Nurturing Abilities for Christ

 

How do I find out more specific details about NAC?

 

CE National has prepared a new NAC Handbook of Guidelines & Politics for individual churches to have access to in their personal library of Youth Ministry Materials.  This new revised handbook can be downloaded from their website (www.cenational.org).

 

A new and revised list of NAC categories has been included with this packet of information.  This further explains the various  opportunities for young people to participate in.

 

Also included in the Handbook is valuable information on CE National scholarships to Grace College.

What about the Bible Quizzing Material/Schedule for the 2006- 2007 year?

Review material: 3 questions of 20 questions per quiz include review material.

 

A study book on I Corinthians and Hebrews is available by contacting the CE National office. The “Finish this Verse” inventory is also included in the study book.

 

NOTE: Churches wishing to have more than one quiz team . . . at least one team must be a full team of 5 quizzers before a second team can be entered.

Also, no new quiz teams will be allowed to compete after the first quiz.

If your church is having a quiz team this year, please call, email or fax that information ASAP. This information is very important for those who are scheduling the quizzes and putting together the questions for each quiz. Please inform us of the participation of your quiz team by October 4, 2006.  Any quiz team registering after this date will not be guaranteed an opportunity to quiz at NAC.   (Phone 717-367-1281; Fax 717-367-0109; Email  tplaceway@earthlink.net)

Additional Information:

Ø The number of Finish the verse questions per quiz will be three.

Ø The number of According to questions per quiz will be two.

Ø  New this year…When an error occurs, quizzers will be offered the option of a 10 pt. or a 20 pt. bonus question. The 20 pt. question will be a Finish the Verse.

 

What about registration fees?

At the Youth Fellowship Board meeting, the NAC Committee will be recommending the same entry fee as last year for individual, group and team participants in the Music/ Oratory/Bible Quizzing divisions of NAC. The entry fees charged last year were as follows:

A registration form is sent to each church 4 weeks prior to an actual NAC day. Each church will receive a registration form for the November 4 NAC day around October 4.

 

Northern Atlantic Youth Fellowship NAC Requirement

Each NAC participant may enter only 5 categories.  Bible Quizzing is included as 1 category.  We will be using the new judging sheets from CE National.  Please take note that there are required elements for the judges this year.  The score sheets can be accessed online at www.cenational.org. Examples will be sent upon request.

 

Also remember that in order to be eligible for a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal, you must be involved in 2 out of the 3 NAC Days. This includes all Original Works Division also. At BNYC only Silver and Gold Medal Winners are eligible for National NAC.
