Remember seeing an old pump out back of an old house or
farm when you were growing up...the one that you had to hand pump…the one that had to be primed before the water would
come out? If you ever tried pumping one, your arm would ache and it would seem that the water would never come. But eventually
the water would start flowing. It was always a welcome sight!
As believers we have living
water in us. When we first accepted Christ, most of us allowed that water to flow freely with the new-found joy of salvation.
As time went on and opportunities were lost or ignored, the joy that came from the flowing of the living water didn’t
flow so easily. Sometimes we need a little "priming" to get that water flowing—reminding us of the joy we have in our
salvation.
That is what the Day Away is all about…getting primed for the tasks that are yet before us, primed
to share the living water with those who are still thirsting, primed to encourage young lives to remain faithful and pure,
primed to keep following hard after the God who supplies us with all we need for godliness.
Come to the Day Away and
prime the pump of your spiritual life through friendship, laughter, thought-provoking challenges and a good splash of joy.
